A history in glass
Glass Solutions may be a relative new business operation, but our involvement and connection with the glass industry goes back decades.
Glass Solutions was founded by Avril and Aaron Fitzgerald. Avril has over 15 years experience in the glass industry, while Aaron's entire working life has been involved with it and associated businesses. Aaron began his working life as an apprentice tradesman at Winstone Glass. Over the years he become a Branch Supervisor, and eventually an owner of Tasman Glass. In 2003 Avril joined him and together they developed Tasman Glass into a full glass manufacturing operation, from this they gained invaluable knowledge and experience of the glass processing industry.
Over the last 5 years both Avril and Aaron have been directly involved with an aluminium joinery and glass installation business. Here a strong working relationship began with Landson Glass in Australia, this has given them insight into their unique business model and became a catalyst for founding Glass Solutions.
People make the difference
Every member of the Glass Solutions team brings a select set of skills and comprehensive knowledge to the business. These skill-sets and experience will certainly assist you in purchasing the most 'fit for purpose' and best glass solution available. As mentioned Aaron has an entire career of practical glazing industry knowledge and Avril brings over a decade of first-hand glass management experience to the business.
Stephen Scott, the contact for the Lower North Island and Top of the South Island began his working life in the motorcycle industry and had a successful career as a mechanic for 18 years. For the last 13 years he has been working alongside Aaron in a number of management roles, all of which were directly related to the glazing industry. This experience gives Stephen an unprecedented amount of product knowledge and practical wisdom.
John Witty, the contact for the lower South Island began his working life in the jet-ski industry. Hardly surprising, given that John was once a New Zealand Jet-Ski Champion. Since 2013 he has been working directly with Aaron and gained practical knowledge of glass, glass hardware and the industry overall. John brings the same dedication and commitment that saw him become a NZ Champion to every Glass Solutions project he's involved in.
Gary Walden, Upper North Island Account Manager is the latest member of the Glass Solutions team and he brings a vast amount of commercial glass industry knowledge, backed with a comprehensive understanding of the Auckland marketplace. This is because Gary's spent his entire working life in the Auckland glass industry, including over 15 years Managing his own successful business. When not at work Gary is a dedicated family man, he's also an endurance athlete who thrives on the challenges of competing in Coast to Coast, Ironman and Ultra Marathons.
